Lotteries plans to put La Primitiva and EuroMillions up for sale next week

The State Society of State Lotteries and Gambling ( SELAE ) plans to put La Primitiva and EuroMillions up for sale next week, according to the plan to reopen in the de-escalation process, a plan that does not contemplate the return to activity before the next May 18, despite the fact that since Monday, 51% of Spaniards in Phase I.

As of this Monday, May 11, the Government allows the reopening of the lottery administrations to the public in the provinces and areas that have passed to Phase I of the de-escalation, “provided they have a useful surface area for exhibition or sale equal to or less than 400 square meters “, although those inside shopping malls without direct and independent access from the outside are excepted.

However, according to the planning of SELAE to which Europa Press has had access, the state company contemplates two scenarios for the reopening no earlier than next May 18.

In Scenario 1, State Lotteries and Gambling establishes that if next Saturday, May 16, there were some type of recovery of territories for Phase I (the Community of Madrid and much of Catalonia, Castilla y León have been left out and the Valencian Community, except for certain areas within these last three territories), the opening would take place on May 18, with the start of the sale of all active games.

Likewise, in this first scenario, he points out that they would raffle off, in the week of May 18 to 24, La Primitiva and EuroMillions ; and that the raffles for Bonoloto and Gordo de la Primitiva would restart in the week of May 25 to 31.

Regarding Scenario 2, SELAE details that, if on Saturday, May 16, no territories were recovered for Phase I, the opening would take place on May 21, when the sale of all active games will begin, except in the case of EuroMillions that would start on May 23, 2020. The draws for all active games will start on Monday, May 25, 2020.

In both scenarios, according to SELAE planning, the National Lottery will go on sale again the day the sale of active games begins and the draws will resume on June 11, 2020.

After publishing the Government’s ‘Plan for the Transition towards a new normality’, sources from the state society, consulted by Europa Press, assured that SELAE takes into account ” always the safety of sellers and customers as a priority “, and that ” They take in these establishments all the necessary measures to make commercial activity and citizen safety compatible. ”

State Lotteries and Gambling suspended the sale of all games on March 15 , considering the provisions of the Royal Decree declaring the state of alarm for the management of the health crisis situation caused by the coronavirus .

Today’s EuroMillions | 143 million euro jackpot at stake

The more than 144.5 million euros have been distributed by the Euromillions , a figure that is the second highest prize awarded by any lottery draw in our country, has played in the town of Mayorga, in Valladolid.

The prize is only surpassed by the 190 million euros (31,613,340,000 of the old pesetas) that a lucky winner from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria won in October 2017 . That amount has been distributed three times since this European draw was launched in 2004, but only one of them played in Spain.

The lucky canary became a billionaire on Friday, October 6, 2017 with the combination of the numbers 1 – 9 – 15 – 19 – 25, stars 1 and 7. He did it with a bet of only 2.5 euros .

Those 190 million euros were, until last February, the EuroMillions pot limit . That number could not be exceeded and if, after reaching that limit, there were still no winners, the excess money from the sale of tickets was added to the next category.

Today’s winning numbers
The winning combination of the 143 million in today’s EuroMillions draw was: 12 – 16 – 23 – 33 – 41 . And the stars: 8 and 10 . The Million Euro winning code has corresponded to: CFK27111 .

New limit on the pot: 250 million euros
However, the rules have changed since February 4. Now, if it reaches 190 million and there are no top-notch winners (the five numbers and the two stars), the pot will continue to fatten up to 200 million.

From that figure, if there are still no winners, it would increase from 10 to 10 million each draw to a maximum of 250 million , the new maximum established.

If this limit is reached and the correct ones are not registered, the procedure would be the same as with the previous cap: the pot is divided among the lower categories and the counter is reset.

The EuroMillions game is held in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Spain, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal, the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
